I am Dr. Colleen Lindsey, and I speak, consult, coach, and teach about how to make any change last.

After losing 150 pounds, I have totally transformed my life in the past few years, culminating in retiring from decades in public school to begin my entrepreneurial journey. That total transformation allowed me the opportunity to envision a different future. I no longer have limiting beliefs about my own capabilities or what I am "supposed" to do. That mindset shift is part of the message I want to share.

I don't think I am alone in how stuck I felt. Most people see the amazing accomplishments of other people and assume those brave souls have "it" and the rest of us are just going to slog through our day-to-day lives. We believe that only a rare few are allowed to race toward their dreams and achieve wildly amazing lives. So many feel stuck and uninspired and frustrated - and most are not even aware of it.

Changing our perspective and mindset are integral to changing our lives. Just as I had to address the underlying reasons for my weight problems to craft a different life, people must consider different ways of reacting and living if they want to create an alternate future. Changing requires us to consider six different aspects of our lives to find a sustainable path forward.
It feels a bit like I can see in color now. My passion is to share what I have learned so that others can break free from the black and white world where we are trapped in doubt, fear, frustration, stress, and blah. I love teaching, so I want to shift my "classroom" to an adult world. I figured if I can teach a 13-year old to appreciate and understand Shakespeare, I can teach anything!

I believe you have what it takes.

I am on a mission to find other women who need to hear my message. We are not broken or flawed or too much. We are already strong and powerful - we just don't see it in ourselves ... yet.

One of my greatest gifts/talents is being able to spin MANY plates, and I love to share the secrets of how to maintain sanity. (I taught full-time, work a second (sometimes third) job, raised kids, take care of elderly parents, finished a doctorate, and lost 150 pounds … not all at once – but many overlapped). I have mastered the art of getting shit done and letting the less important stuff slide!

  • Women who recognize the empty promises and short-term successes of the diet industry and are looking for something sustainable from someone who has figured it out. After losing 150 pounds, my goal is to distill all that I have learned for other women in an “anti-diet” way. My online course and membership program, Powerful-You (powerful-you.com) provides the missing keys of mindset and community to craft a different approach to long-term health because “eat less, move more” is BS.   • Individuals interested in finding small shifts in their own lives find freedom, focus, and fulfillment. I coach individually for personal growth and success.
  • Organizations that are interested in how to make lasting changes, create mindset shifts, and prevent reactive behaviors. I provide keynote speeches, consultations, and workshops.
